Center for Jewish Life
Led by Rabbi Meir Chai and Mrs. Rivka Benhiyoun, emissaries of the Lubavitcher Rebbe to downtown Chicago since 1987, Chabad Center for Jewish Life has been a beacon of warmth, learning, and community for decades.
Our locations in the Loop, Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, and South Loop create inclusive, welcoming spaces for people of every background, affiliation, and level of observance, and are dedicated to awakening Jewish life from within.
Philosophy
At CJL, every Jew belongs. There are no membership fees, no tickets, and no gatekeeping. We strongly believe in a living, interactive community that honors each person's individuality. All are welcome.

Every year, Chabad Center for Jewish Life brings the joy of Sukkot into the heart of downtown Chicago by building a public community Sukkah at Daley Plaza. The Sukkah Project transforms that sacred space into a living art gallery, featuring original works by Jewish artists and storytellers. We invite you to step inside an island of light in the city's rush, surround yourself by canvases, stories, and traditions that bring Jewish culture to life in the heart of Chicago.
