Lev Kublanov, born in Moscow in 1946, graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute in 1972 and spent two decades working for architectural firms. A member of both the USSR Architects’ Union and the International Union of Architects, he left his architectural career in 1985 to become a graphic artist. Lev Kublanov's art captures Moscow's historic essence amid modern changes, depicting its ancient courtyards and streets with precise composition influenced by his architectural background. His emotionally driven, poetic works resonate with those concerned about the loss of tradition to technology. In 1998, Kublanov relocated to Chicago and later created artwork for Schuler’s Restaurant in Stevensville, Michigan.
