Sarah Epstein
Originally from New York, raised in a Chabad community, I moved to Israel, where I live now as an artist, wife, and mother of three. As I navigate through the day to day, I work to channel all parts of myself into my work, finding inspiration in moments that toe the line between the insignificant and significant. By bringing these moments to the center, I aim to create pieces that present the quieter, often overlooked moments that radiate with significance. Because It's in these moments, I believe, that all people can connect and relate to one another. From this place of humanity, I hope to open the viewers' eyes and hearts to more compassion, understanding, and appreciation for others different from them.

Inspired by Norman Rockwell’s A Day in the Life of a Boy, this piece offers a glimpse into a Jewish home through the eyes of a young boy on a Friday. As his mother, father, and older siblings prepare for the Shabbat (Sabbath), everyday tasks and quiet moments of teaching unfold smoothly side by side. The Jewish home and the Sabbath are both central to Jewish life serving as lasting sources of connection and warmth to all who enter.
